Keith got plenty of work thanks to the SEE Program
Keith has a great problem: he is inundated with work.
This wasn’t always the case. In June last year, Keith’s literacy challenges meant that he was unable to fill out forms and logbooks, which kept him from getting work.
Keith spent four months brushing up on his reading and writing skills in our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program in Rockhampton.
“By Christmas, I had to the confidence to go around the local cattle yards and freight companies and convince them I was the right person for the job,” he proudly shares.
This year, when the flood waters rose around Central Queensland, he was kept busy with jobs to keep the community running – from driving cattle trucks to delivering water to sites. (The irony isn’t lost on us!)
With so many options available to him, he’s looking forward to the freedom of travel and moving into his own rental. He’s got his sights set on spending time in New South Wales later this year, finding work as a sheep shearer or a security guard.
The SEE Program is funded by the Department of Workplace Relations and delivered by Max Solutions RTO 0667.
