Primo Foods employees complete 10-week SEE workplace training
A huge congratulations to the Primo Foods employees who recently completed the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program Workplace-based Training project. Over 10 weeks, the program supported employees in Australia on PALM visas as they settled into their new lives, guided by their employer. Through classroom learning and hands-on activities, participants built practical English, numeracy, digital, and financial skills to increase confidence and independence.
Building digital confidence for everyday life
Participants started by strengthening essential digital skills, using Chromebooks, email, and Google applications to support communication and day-to-day tasks. The training also focused on safe online practices, helping learners understand online safety, protect personal information, and recognise common risks.
Practical budgeting and financial capability
A key part of the program developed everyday financial skills—tracking expenses, creating budgets, and setting personal financial goals. As confidence grew, participants learned to review and adjust budgets over time, supporting better decision-making and long-term financial wellbeing.
Life skills for settling in and staying safe
The program covered real-world topics that help people thrive in Australia, including renting and understanding utility bills, comparing transport options, and learning driving requirements. Learners also explored how to navigate the healthcare system and manage banking tasks safely, including sending money overseas and spotting scams. Sessions introduced important concepts like credit, insurance, and superannuation, building knowledge for informed choices.
