Free English Classes Hobart: Meena's Story
Meena had never been to school. After 18 months in our free SEE Program at Rosny Park, she earned her first certificate in English.
Starting from the very first step
When Meena joined us, everything was new. Reading, writing, speaking English, learning in a classroom and using a computer were all things she was doing for the first time.
The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program supports people at every stage of building their language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills. For Meena, that meant starting at the very beginning.
How our Rosny Park trainers supported her
Over 18 months, our trainers met Meena exactly where she was. They:
Built her English, literacy and digital skills step by step
Created a classroom where she felt confident to take part
Adapted their support as she worked through some difficult times
Their patience and consistency kept her engaged all the way to the finish line.
What the SEE Program looks like at Max Solutions
Trainers who specialise in learners with little or no prior education. No one is expected to arrive with skills they haven't had the chance to learn.
English, literacy and digital skills taught together. This gives learners a foundation for further training and work.
Flexible, learner-centred support. We help people stay engaged when life gets in the way.
Nationally recognised outcomes, delivered locally. We deliver the program at multiple locations across the country, including Tasmania.
Meena's achievement is her own, built on persistence and courage. It also shows what's possible when learners are supported by educators who care.
Know someone who could benefit?
If you, a family member or someone you support lives in Rosny Park, Bellerive, Lindisfarne, Howrah, Rokeby, Mornington or anywhere around Hobart, our free SEE Program can help them build English, literacy, numeracy and digital skills for work, study and everyday life.
