Connecting with community during Refugee Week

SEE participants attending a community lunch

Participants from our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program in Moonah recently celebrated Refugee Week by attending a community lunch hosted by the Multicultural Council of Tasmania

With many SEE participants coming from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, the event was a valuable opportunity to connect with the broader community, learn about local support services, and build relationships with organisations that support migrants and refugees across Tasmania.

The SEE Program is about more than classroom learning. It supports participants to develop the language, literacy, digital and employability skills they need to take part more confidently in everyday life, further study, work and the community.

Events like this provide participants with real-world opportunities to practise communication skills, grow their confidence, and strengthen their sense of belonging. They also highlight the importance of inclusion, connection and community support in helping people achieve their education and employment goals.

Refugee Week is a time to recognise the strength, resilience and contributions of refugees and migrants. We were proud to see our participants engaging with the community, sharing experiences and making meaningful connections.

Thank you to the Multicultural Council of Tasmania for hosting such a welcoming and important event.

The SEE Program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Workplace Relations and delivered by Max Solutions RTO 0667.
